The AI Copilot Chat is your smart brainstorming assistant. It helps you create, refine, and expand your mind maps in real-time by suggesting ideas and organizing thoughts, making mind mapping more efficient and interactive. Each mind map keeps its own chat history, so you can revisit past ideas and continue right where you left off.

MindMap AI grounds every map in the content you give it instead of inventing structure. When you generate from a document, transcript or recording, the branches come from what is actually in the source. No. Ask the AI to expand a branch, reorganize a section or explain a concept and the map updates in place, so your existing work keeps going. Edit by hand or through chat and both stay in sync. Every AI-generated map is fully editable: add, remove or modify nodes, reorganize the structure and personalize the content. Undo and redo are always on, and you can retry any AI action for free.

You can undo the last action or ask the AI to retry without using extra credits. This AI mind mapping tool gives you the flexibility to fine-tune your mind map as you go. If you've made manual edits to a node, the retry option will be disabled to avoid overwriting your changes, but you can still keep building your mind map with new ideas from the AI.

You can create and edit maps in any language on every plan, including right-to-left scripts like Arabic and Hebrew. The full AI toolkit, including chat and expand in 29+ languages, is part of the paid plans.

Your branch structure, hierarchy and topic content are preserved, and the imported map is fully editable. You can also upload documents, media and data files and let the AI turn them into new mind maps.

Yes. MindMap AI shows the same data in four structures and you switch between them without rebuilding. Mind map for branching, radial brainstorming and research. MindMap AI uses a credit-based system for AI work only. Manual mind mapping never uses credits. Credits are consumed each time the AI Copilot Chat generates or updates a map, and the amount scales with how much content is processed: the size of your project, the length of your input, and the length of the AI reply. A short chat reply costs far less than generating a large map from a long document. Retrying an AI response is free, and reading an existing map never costs credits. Yes. MindMap AI currently supports up to 4,000 words per mind map generation. If your content goes beyond this, you may see an error saying the maximum length has been reached. Upload size limits also apply per plan, and are listed on the pricing page. For the best results, break a long project into sections and build one topic or chapter at a time, then use AI Copilot Chat to join them.

You can export as PDF, PNG, Markdown or a MindMap AI project file on every plan, including the free plan, where downloads carry MindMap AI branding. SVG and CSV export, and branding-free downloads, start on Basic. For sharing, publish a map as a public link or iframe embed, or share it by email for real-time viewing with the people you choose. Publicly shared maps can also appear in the mind map gallery.

Yes. No installation is required, MindMap AI works in any modern browser. There are also apps for iOS and Android, and Chrome and Edge extensions that capture any webpage or YouTube video as a map. Everything syncs across devices. MindMap AI also runs inside Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants through the MCP connector.

Yes. MindMap AI has an MCP connector for Claude, listed in Anthropic’s Connectors Directory, and an app for ChatGPT. Create, edit and export the maps in your account directly from a conversation, and every map syncs to your MindMap AI canvas for full editing. You can also add the MindMap AI MCP server to other MCP-compatible tools, like Notion. It works on the free plan. Reading your maps is free; creating or editing nodes uses the same monthly credits as the app.

Yes. Team plans give you a shared team workspace where members share projects, with team admin and member roles, centralized billing, and AI credits per seat. Plans scale up to 100 seats. Everyone on the team also gets the same manual editing, structures and export as individual plans. See team pricing.

Yes, your mind maps and uploaded files are private by default. Only you can access them unless you choose to share a mind map using a public link. In that case, anyone with the link can view it, and it may also appear in search results. If you share privately, only the people with the link can access it. Your uploaded files and AI chat history always stay private, even if the mind map itself is shared. All data is protected with industry-standard encryption in transfer and at rest.

You fully own all the content you create in MindMap AI. We don't claim ownership of your data or use it for anything other than providing the service. If you choose to share your mind map using a public link, you give your consent to make it public. Keep in mind that once a mind map is public, you won't be able to restrict access or make it private again.

You can delete your account from Profile, then Account Settings, then Delete Account. Your mind maps, uploaded files and AI chat history are removed from our systems. We may keep limited records for a short period where the law requires it, such as transaction records for accounting, or where we need them for security and fraud prevention. Anything retained is stored securely and deleted once that need ends. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention terms. Any mind map you previously shared with a public link stays accessible to others after your account is deleted.

No. MindMap AI never uses your mind maps, documents, or files to train AI models. Your data is private and only processed to support features within the mind map app. For full details read the Privacy Policy or contact support at support@mindmapai.app.
