2. Common Mind Map Operations Errors

You may encounter these issues while working with mind maps:

This session was closed because you opened the project elsewhere!

What this means

Your session was terminated because the same account was used to access the same project from another device or browser tab.

Limit to one tab/device per project to prevent conflicting edits and data loss.

The session ended due to logout or inactivity! Click here to reload the page!

What this means

Your session has expired because no activity was detected for an extended period or you logged out from your account in another tab or browser.

Click the "Click here" link to reload the page and log in again.

3. Resolving Mind Map Issues

  2. 2

If prompted, log in again with your credentials

  3. 3

Close duplicate tabs of the same project if applicable

  4. 4

Ensure you have proper edit permissions

4. Preventing Mind Map Issues

Best Practices

  • Don't share your login credentials with others
  • Avoid using multiple tabs or devices for the same project to prevent conflicting edits
  • Log out properly when switching devices

Did you know?

MindMap AI automatically saves your changes as you make them, so there's no need for manual saving.

5. Common Export/Import Issues

Unable to Export Mind Map?

What this means

This may happen due to a temporary platform issue or session timeout.

How to resolve

  • Be patient, as exports of large mind maps may take several minutes to process
  • Refresh the page to ensure your session is active
  • Check your browser settings to ensure pop-ups/downloads are not blocked
  • Check for special characters in node, that might cause export issues

Important: Exports of complex or large mind maps may take time to process. If your export isn't starting immediately, please wait a few moments before trying again.

Import Error

Invalid .mma file: Missing required files: project.json, min-map.json

What this means

MindMap AI only supports importing .mma files (MindMap AI export format). Trying to import unsupported or corrupted files will result in failure.

How to resolve

  • Ensure the file you're uploading is a .mma file exported from MindMap AI
  • Do not manually edit or modify the file content in any way

Import Error

Invalid .mma file: Unexpected file in archive: Projects/

What this means

MindMap AI does not support importing .zip files directly. ZIP files are compressed archives and not a recognized mind map format for import. Attempting to upload a ZIP will result in an error.

Reminder: MindMap AI only supports importing .mma files that were exported from MindMap AI itself. Any other formats (e.g., .zip, .txt, .json) are not supported for direct import.
